Executive Order 99066 was a presidential order that allowed for the authorization of certain areas to created as military zones from which any and all persons may be excluded. Following the New Plague incident, Order 99066 was primarily used to target the property of Chinese Americans, communist sympathizers, and/or people promoting socialist policies so that they could be attracted to and subsequently rounded up at what were essentially internment camps.
Cause[]
War hysteria was high in the decades prior to the Great War but it was greatly exacerbated by the New Plague incident. As a result, the general public of the United States of America grew even more paranoid and prejudiced against Chinese Americans and communist sympathizers like those held responsible for the New Plague Incident.
